Failure to respond to a court-issued document may result in the claimant\u2019s assertions being accepted in full, thereby exposing you to the risk of enforcement measures, including the seizure of your assets.<\/p>\n

\nSuch correspondence is typically delivered in person; therefore, it is possible for a family member to receive it on your behalf. There have been unfortunate instances where recipients only became aware of the letter long after its delivery, with remarks such as, \u201cCome to think of it, something came from the district court last week.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\nShould a complaint from the court be disregarded and the designated court date pass without response, a judgment may be rendered and finalized in your absence. Once finalized, such a judgment cannot be reversed. Explanations such as \u201cI was not aware\u201d or \u201cI had a legitimate defense\u201d will not be deemed sufficient justification.<\/p>\n

\nUpon finalization of the judgment, the creditor may pursue compulsory execution against your property, including real estate, automobiles, bank accounts, life insurance policies, and wages.<\/p>\n

\nIn light of the above, it is imperative that you do not disregard any communication from the court. Immediate consultation with a qualified attorney is strongly recommended.<\/p>\n

Alegaciones como \u201cno lo sab\u00eda\u201d o \u201cten\u00eda argumentos v\u00e1lidos\u201d no ser\u00e1n consideradas justificaci\u00f3n suficiente.<\/p>\n

\nCon la sentencia firme, el acreedor podr\u00e1 solicitar la ejecuci\u00f3n forzosa sobre sus bienes, incluidos inmuebles, veh\u00edculos, cuentas bancarias, p\u00f3lizas de seguro de vida y salarios.<\/p>\n
